MUSIC ARTISTS NEED YOUR HELP TODAY!

MUSIC CREATORS DESERVE
TO BE PAID FOR THEIR WORK!

Add your voice to those demanding
Congress pass the American Music Fairness Act.

Tell Congress Not to Fall for Big Radio’s LRFA Tricks!

The billion-dollar radio corporations are at it again: They are working to convince members of Congress to support the “Local Radio Freedom Act,” an innocent-sounding resolution that is actually a devious ploy to deny artists payment for AM/FM radio plays.

Every year, radio conglomerates make $10 billion to $15 billion a year from advertising revenues from the ads that play between songs – yet Big Radio refuses to pay a dime in performance royalties to the music artists who create those songs.

This is where you come in! We need you to contact your members of Congress to implore that they don’t support LRFA – and instead sponsor the American Music Fairness Act that would finally enact in law a performance royalty for songs played on AM/FM radio.

Here’s where it gets fun: if you post on social media calling on Congress to reject corporate radio’s cynical Local Radio Freedom Act and send us a link or screenshot, we’ll enter you in a raffle for gift cards that can be used for future concerts!

Artists/Creators

Artists and other creators would finally get the respect of being paid for their work when their music is played on AM/FM radio. Over the last century radio broadcasters have made an estimated $700 billion in ad revenues from the music they played – without giving a dime of that money to the artists who performed the songs. Most artists are middle-class hard-working people who struggle to pay bills and provide for their family. If that sounds like you, join the cause today to get artists paid for their work.

Small Broadcasters

Community and other small broadcasters are champions of local artists. Unlike the corporate radio giants such as iHeart, they are in touch with their communities. The American Music Fairness Act by capping what they’d have to pay for the music they play to $500 or less a year. By doing so, it gives these local broadcasters certainty about their future costs. Local broadcasters and artists are in this fight together – that’s why the National Federation of Community Broadcasters supports the American Music Fairness Act.
