Congress pass the American Music Fairness Act.
In their zeal to increase their profits while denying artists the respect of payment for their work, Big Radio is demanding that Congress pass a law that requires auto manufacturers to continue to install AM radio in every car. Music Fairness Action loves AM radio, but it’s unfathomable that Big Radio should get its AM radio profits protected while continuing to deny artists payment for their work by refusing to pay for AM/FM radio plays.
Radio corporations hoard the $10-$15 billion a year they get from advertising due to the songs they play while refusing to pay artists. There are hundreds of thousands of hard-working Americans artists who would benefit from performance royalties.
That’s why Music Fairness Action says: No Radio Without Royalties! Until Big Radio is willing to do right by artists, they shouldn’t be gifted AM radio profits protection.
Write your Members of Congress to tell them that Big Radio must agree to passage of the American Music Fairness Act before it gets what it wants for AM radio. Click here to Write Your Representative.

Imagine working hard, making a hit song… and getting paid NOTHING when it plays on the radio.
Sounds unfair? It is. But that’s reality for artists today.
Meanwhile, radio corporations make billions playing your favorite songs – without paying the musicians who created them. And now, Congress is debating a bill that protects radio’s profits while artists get ignored AGAIN.
ENOUGH! If AM radio gets special treatment, artists deserve fairness, too.

Artists and other creators would finally get the respect of being paid for their work when their music is played on AM/FM radio. Over the last century radio broadcasters have made an estimated $700 billion in ad revenues from the music they played – without giving a dime of that money to the artists who performed the songs. Most artists are middle-class hard-working people who struggle to pay bills and provide for their family. If that sounds like you, join the cause today to get artists paid for their work.
Community and other small broadcasters are champions of local artists. Unlike the corporate radio giants such as iHeart, they are in touch with their communities. The American Music Fairness Act by capping what they’d have to pay for the music they play to $500 or less a year. By doing so, it gives these local broadcasters certainty about their future costs. Local broadcasters and artists are in this fight together – that’s why the National Federation of Community Broadcasters supports the American Music Fairness Act.
Music artists are our family, our friends, and neighbors. We support them by showing up for their gigs – now is time to make your voice heard so they finally get the respect they deserve and our paid for their work. You can do that by joining the cause to get the American Music Fairness Act passed.
